Join us for the Walk for Respect

Together we can again stop changes to the Racial Discrimination Act.

Section 18C of the Racial Discrimination Act prevents Australians from all backgrounds from being the target of racist hate speech. This is under threat from the current government.

A modern Australia is a multicultural Australia and we want to respect and encourage diversity. We know racist hate speech leads to exclusion, marginalization and even depression for those who are subject to it, and racist hate speech can lead to further violence. Undermining race hate laws opens the door to the kind of racism that can only do harm. We support freedom of speech, but we also support the right of the Australian community to be protected from racist hate speech.

We can save the law that protects all Australians from hurtful and divisive speech.

Join us for the Walk for Respect to show that you stand with us and want to protect our multicultural community to encourage harmony not hate speech.
